Much emphasis has been given to the Pursuit of Happiness. The very process of pursuing, however, implies various forms of DOING that inevitably fall short of their aim.
Accordingly, the aim of this blog is not to focus on PURSUING happiness per se, but rather on developing and applying the specific basic skills requisite to actually BEING happy.
Since being happy clearly entails liberation from suffering, I intend to share extensively here about what I have learned about this crucially important topic as well.
Also, in keeping with the carefully-chosen title of this blog, I intend to distinguish as clearly as possible between “wise” and “not-so-wise” ways to be happy and to promote the former exclusively. Generally speaking, in my view, wise ways to happiness are those that do not give rise to concurrent or subsequent suffering for oneself or others.
